I have been a runner for as long as I can remember.  Having spent my early childhood in the United States with numerous national parks nearby, I was spoilt for choice.  My running obsession started as a child going for runs with my father.  This progressed from running to school and back once a week to running the journey several times per week.  My brother and I joined the local football (soccer) team, It was clear we were not very skilled but extremely fit. During the winter I would run at our local indoor track with the local running club.  Once we immigrated back to the UK I continued to run religiously throughout my failed football career until I discovered trail and fell running.  Having done many road races such as the London Marathon and Great Manchester run, I found the softer terrain of trail and fell running far more enjoyable.  Most weekends you will find me at the base of a fell lining up with other weekend warriors anywhere from North Wales to the Lake District.

Running is something that has been with me my entire life.  I take credit for introducing my brother to off road running!  Having lived in the United States I’ve had the pleasure of running in the stunning landscapes of Alaska, Colorado and California.  My running journey also started in early childhood going for runs with my father.  I began taking part in races during my early 20’s with my best result coming in the Indiana Trail 50 mile race.  My most memorable running experiences came from my time in Alaska.  Running in Chugach State park is amazing, apart from the bears and the odd moose!  This year I plan to visit and explore Colorado again.  Hopefully I can spend as much time possible running so I can achieve a new personal best by the end of the year.
