The Inaugural Nene Park Half Marathon Challenge Trail Race
The Nene Park Half Marathon Challenge is an accessible event for all abilities to participate in the emerging sport of trail running. The course comprises of two laps of trail, track and bridleway around Nene Park and Rural Estate. The event will be fully marked and marshalled with chip timing, water stations & first aid. All participants will receive an event medal and free digital download with prize money awarded to the top finishers in female and male categories.

I Trail Run
The half marathon course begins in Coney Meadow and sets off towards Overton Lake where runners will turn left and cross Ham Bridge then Bluebell Bridge before another left turn along the River Nene. Runners will then continue along the river through Bluebell Wood until reaching the north aspect of the park where the course follows the Nene Way footpath past an initial water station at Milton Ferry Bridge.
Approximately half a mile along Nene Way the course turns right and heads down Landy Green Way then Left onto Mill Lane where runners will make their way towards Castor Back Waters. From the bottom of Mill lane runners will turn left and follow Black Dike where the second water station will be positioned before runners follow more footpath through the Rural Estate until re-joining back onto Nene Way. Heading north, runners will cross the railway lines and turn right to head back into Nene Park where they will run north through a series of meadows alongside the River Nene.
The course follows along the edges of Long Meadow and Short Meadow before turning south past Pontoon Bridge towards Bluebell Bridge, which runners will again cross and turn left for a second lap of the course. After the 12 mile mark runners will head south from Short Meadow and cross Ham bridge to finish off the 2 lap race back in Coney Meadow.

There will be three water/feed stations along the course. Stations will include a choice of drinks and energy gels.

All participants will receive an event medal. First female & male finishers in half marathon will receive £50 prize money

Trail running shoes are highly recommended due to possible mud conditions.
Marshals positioned at various points along the course. Volunteers welcome to offer their help for the event.
No dogs, iPod, mp3 players or similar.
No unofficial runners. Unofficial runners can cause problems out on the trail which puts others at risk.
Bib numbers must be visible at all times or easily accessible to show the aid station team.
You must follow the marked trail/course at all times. Deliberately taking a different route will lead to disqualification.
You must complete the entire course under your own efforts, never physically helped in any way.
You may not store supplies of any kind, food/drink/clothing, along the trail. Doing so will lead to disqualification.
It is your responsibility to fully disclose at race registration any changes to existing medical conditions and any prescription medications being taken.
Performance enhancing/illegal drugs taken during the event will result in disqualification.
Be aware you compete entirely at your own risk including but not limited to getting lost, trips and falls, road crossings, and all other hazards of the trail. There will be a full waiver to sign when you register on race day. If you do not sign the waiver you will not be permitted to start the race.
Littering will result in immediate disqualification. We must respect the trails at all times. If you are caught littering you will be banned from all future events.
If you are unable to finish the race you must personally inform the nearest aid station of this decision to withdraw. You must hand over your race number. This serves as official notice of your withdrawal from the race. You must physically speak with the race director at HQ and hand over your number.
Please be aware of other people whilst you are running and be as polite and courteous as possible to them. You do not have priority over any other users out on the course.

A safe baggage drop will be provided at race registration. A member of staff will be present at all times.
+Results (chip timing, cut off times)
Chip timing will be provided by Time2Run Events Ltd. Ankle tags will be used as muddy conditions may be possible. Results will be posted on online system post-race. A cut off time of 3.5hrs applies for the half marathon.
Nene Park Trust has allowed subsidized car parking for the event of £2 per car.

Transfers will be allowed until 10 days prior to the event. You will be charged £10 per transfer

- No dogs or cycles allowed on the course
- Course is unsuitable for wheelchairs
When entering you declare that you will abide by UK Athletics rules and that you are medically fit to run, and understand that you take part entirely at your own risk. Race organisers shall not be held responsible for any illness, injury, loss or damage to your person or property as a consequence of your participation in this event.
In the event of severe weather or circumstances beyond the control of the race organisers, we reserve the right to cancel the race. In the event of cancellation no refund of race entry fees will be made however entrants will receive transferable entry to future events.
